Tropical scent, brewed from table rice,

Tenmei, Sora "sky", Karoyaka "light" Junmai, Aozora "blue sky", nama

Brewed by Akebono Shuzo which establised in Aizu Basin in Fukushima Prefecture where a tapestry of rice paddies stretches in 1904. The fourth generation of the family, a woman determined to carry on the legacy of her ancestors, took the helm of the brewery.Under her leadership, a new brand, "Tenmei," was born, captivating the palates of sake enthusiasts both within and beyond Fukushima Prefecture.

In 2011, the brewery faced a devastating blow in the form of the Great East Japan Earthquake. Despite the immense challenges, the spirit of Akebono Shuzo remained unbroken. With unwavering determination, the brewery's fifth-generation owner, also a toji (master brewer), rallied the remaining only four employees.

Guided by the unwavering belief that "sake begins to deteriorate from the moment the rice is harvested," the owner implemented a groundbreaking approach. The entire brewing process, from the preparation of the rice to the final bottling, is now meticulously conducted within a temperature-controlled warehouse.

With its alcohol content of 14%, pleasantly lower than average, offering a gentle introduction to its delightful flavors. The aroma of this sake is a captivating blend of crisp green apples and invigorating citrus notes. The initial burst of zesty acidity is followed by a delicate sweetness reminiscent of ripe peaches and strawberries. Its texture is incredibly smooth, gliding effortlessly down the throat, leaving a lingering sensation of refreshment. Best enjoyed chilled, perfectly complementing a variety of fish dishes.
